Chief Executive Officer

Recently knighted by the French Ambassador for his contribution to science education in South Africa, David Kramer was appointed Chief Operating Officer at Sci-Bono in 2004. He has led the organization in his capacity as Chief Executive Officer since 2007. David is dedicated to increasing the educational achievement and career progress of youth in economically disadvantaged communities. He has specialized in improving the teaching and learning of mathematics, science and technology and raising public awareness in these critical areas of the economy. Prior to joining Sci-Bono David was the CEO for PROTEC. David serves on the Executive Management Team of the Gauteng Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education and provides strategic advice on the maths, science and technology strategy for the province. David has a B Com (Economics), a Higher Diploma of Education and a B. Ed. (Post Grad) (Science Ed) cum laude from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Chief Operating Officer

Michael started his working career as a teacher before graduating first to the position of Subject Advisor and Head of Curriculum, then as the GM at the Old Mutual Science Centre in Durban. He has been COO at Sci-Bono since 2007. His work experience puts him in a position to integrate the varying interests of communities, the education and private sectors and to promote MST. Michael’s other interest is his role at Sci-Bono in the promotion of Career Guidance in Gauteng Schools. He has a B. Paed (Arts), B. Ed (Hons) qualification.

Director Corporate Services

Fikile was appointed the Director of Corporate Services at Sci-Bono in April 2009. She has 25 years work experience of which 15 has been at managerial level in various industries. Her specific area of interest is corporate governance and policy development. As a Director Corporate Services, she is responsible for four departments namely: Finance, Human Resources, Marketing & Communication and Facilities Management. She also serves as the Company Secretary tasked with corporate governance. In addition to having an MBA, Fikile has qualifications in: Human Resources Management; Public Management; Integrated Development for Service Delivery; Finance and Analytical Chemistry.

Director of Teacher Development

Anele has a BA Honnours Degree in Public and Political Studies, Advanced and Postgraduate diplomas in Project and Programme Management and recently Postgraduate Diploma in ICTs in Education at UCT (2012). Anele’s work education experience spans over 20 years having served in both Public and non-governmental institutions. Key projects in his career have been the establishment of SGBs, the Business Trust Quality Learning Programme and the Expanded Public Works Programme. He has a special interest in teacher training and the ICTs in teaching and learning. • He is responsible for the Maths, Science and Technology teacher training programmes including ICT youth development programmes
