• VISION AND MISSION

Sci-Bono aims to improve public engagement with science and technology as an educational institution which supports schools, teachers and, most importantly, school learners. The centre does this by assisting with curriculum delivery, providing teacher training and support and by providing curriculum materials to schools. Sci-Bono’s brief is to:

• Improve learning in maths, science and technology (MST) by improving interest in and increasing awareness of the role of maths, science and technology in the modern world and by making MST learning more accessible, enjoyable and challenging and linking school learning to the world outside the school classroom.
• Improve teaching by providing in-service training and support for teachers and by helping schools to deliver the MST curriculum in Gauteng school classrooms.
• Provide career education and counselling, particularly but not exclusively in the areas of science, engineering and technology (SET) and to support the development of teachers of life skills and career education.
