Three Sci-Bono laboratories are fully equipped facilities designed to facilitate curriculum based experiments, demonstrations and practical teaching of physics, chemistry and life science. Learners are guided through a series of experiments that are prescribed by Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements.

DOW Chemistry Laboratory

The Dow Chemistry Laboratory is a fully equipped facility in which Chemistry experiments aligned to the national curriculum and CAPS documents are facilitated to develop learners understanding of STEM concepts.

FESTO Mechatronics Laboratory

A Physical Science Laboratory that aims to improve learners understanding of STEM concepts through the facilitation of FET curriculum physics experiments. Lab interactions provide exposure of learners to good laboratory practices while developing learners’ laboratory skills and technical ability.

Sangari Life Sciences Laboratory

The Life Science Lab offers life science practicals that are aligned with the curriculum for FET learners for all schols in Gauteng. The main aim is to develop learners laboratory skills and technical ability and to also provide the learners with good laboratory practices.

The following experiments are on offer at our laboratories:

For more information on the practicals, please contact the relevant Laboratory technician:

  • Mr. Hlanganisa Madonsela (Chemistry)
  • Mr. Phathutshedzo Malivha (Physical Science) or
  • Mr. Zibusiso Nyoni (Life Science) on 011 639 8400
